American idol is a popular music reality show of America. It has entered its 10th season in 2011. The season has seen many changes. The biggest was that the original judge of American idol Simon Cowell left the show this season and that was seen as one point that would have decreased the popularity of the show. But nothing like that happened and this year also American idol 2011 has been the most popular television show. There were new rounds and reintroduction of some old ones like the judges wild card entry etc.
American idol 2011 is been judged by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Taylor as the new judges and Randy Jackson as the original one. The show has only four weeks to go with that top 5 finalists trying out their luck. There have to be four more eliminations before America gets its new idol. American idol 2011 premiered on the television on 19th January, 2011 and it underwent many changes. The number of judges was reduced to the original three as opposed to the last season’s four. This season’s American idol was aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays as against Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the prior seasons.
This was the first American idol season in which 15 year olds could go for audition and there was also an addition in the number of rounds. More contestants went to Hollywood this year and also 11 and not 10 finalists will go on tour. American idol is a very popular show and one of the most watched television series. It is the only show to stay number one for six consecutive seasons. This season of American idol 2011 has had its share of popularity and has again been able to drag audiences to it. it is a sensation in the US.
